Bill Sutton took his allotment at the Trap Grounds in 1947. The last
Spitfire was made in February 1948. Just as we were about to celebrate
Bill's 60 years yesterday, a Spitfire flew overhead.
This one, ML407, was delivered from Castle Bromwich on 23 April 1944, three years before Bill started digging.
Stuart Skyte, who fixes most
things round here, denies having organised the flypast.
